About Genome Botanicals

At Genome Botanicals, we believe botanical supplements should be grounded in science, accurate identification, and respect for the plants themselves.

We are a father-and-son team, Joseph and Glenn, combining expertise in plant science, engineering, and business to create a botanical supplement company focused on authenticity and trust. Rather than offering dozens of products, we take a deliberate, selective approach - choosing botanicals we truly understand and can confidently stand behind.

Botanical Expertise Comes First

Joseph holds a degree in plant science from Rutgers University and leads botanical evaluation and product selection at Genome Botanicals. His training allows us to assess plants based on true botanical identity, not just common names or commercial labels.

In an industry where many supplements are mislabeled or substituted with visually similar species, we believe correct identification matters. Knowing the species, morphology, and characteristics of a plant is foundational to quality, safety, and trust.

A Focus on Authentic Egyptian Blue Lotus

Our passion for Egyptian Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) reflects our broader philosophy.

Blue Lotus is one of the most frequently misrepresented botanicals available today. Many products sold as "Blue Lotus" are made from incorrect species or unrelated water lilies. We take great care to identify and source only genuine Egyptian Blue Lotus, using botanical characteristics such as flower structure, coloration, and morphology - not assumptions or supplier claims alone.

Our sourcing relationships span multiple international regions, many with long histories of traditional botanical use. While we keep specific sources confidential to protect quality and continuity, we are transparent about what matters most: authenticity, botanical accuracy, and careful selection.

Intentional, Limited Product Selection

Alongside rare botanicals like Blue Lotus, we also offer more widely known supplements such as ashwagandha. Regardless of how common or uncommon a plant may be, our standards remain the same. If a product does not meet our expectations for quality and integrity, we don't offer it.

We believe a focused catalog allows us to:

  • Vet products more thoroughly
  • Educate our customers more clearly
  • Maintain consistent quality over time

Built With Precision and Transparency

Glenn brings degrees in engineering and computer science, along with a business degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. His role ensures Genome Botanicals is built with technical rigor, operational clarity, and long-term integrity - both in how we present information and how we grow as a company.

Our Commitment

When you choose Genome Botanicals, you are trusting us with more than a product.

We are committed to:

  • Authentic botanical identification
  • Science-informed sourcing and evaluation
  • Honest, accurate product descriptions
  • Education over marketing hype
  • Quality over quantity

Why Our Blue Lotus Is Different

Genuine Egyptian Blue Lotus—Not Substitutes

Egyptian Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) is often confused with other water lily species or sold under the same name despite being botanically incorrect. Many products on the market rely on appearance alone, incomplete information, or supplier claims without verification.

We don't.

Our Blue Lotus is selected based on correct botanical identification, including:

  • Flower morphology and petal structure
  • Coloration consistent with Nymphaea caerulea
  • Botanical characteristics that distinguish it from common substitutes

Science-Driven Identification

Because our product selection is guided by formal training in plant science, we evaluate Blue Lotus as a botanical specimen, not just an ingredient. This allows us to avoid misidentified species and ensure what we sell is truly what it claims to be.

Careful, International Sourcing

Our Blue Lotus is sourced through carefully vetted international relationships, chosen for quality and authenticity rather than convenience. While we keep specific locations confidential, we prioritize regions with established histories of traditional Blue Lotus cultivation and handling.

A Deliberate, Integrity-First Approach

We offer Blue Lotus because we believe in it - and because we're confident in its authenticity. We would rather offer one genuine product than many questionable ones.

That difference matters.
